Waiting Forbidden

Waiting Forbidden

Day after day, and we still where we are… No home… No food… No…clothes… and still waiting

I 72 years ago, I was born in Bait Nabala, I opened my eyes in my new world, and lived with my Dad Mohammad, and Mom Isra’ and my 3 brothers, I was the youngest between them

Our home was small, but for us it was a castle, because we had the best days in our lives in it. My school was a little bit far from our home, so we had to go there by foot

When that day came, the blue sky turned into black, and the trees were empty from birds, I remember that day as it was yesterday, I was back then in fifth grade, going home from school, I was very excited to watch the Tawjehe Graduation of the year 1947-1948

But unfortunately, it didn’t happen, because we saw many of outsiders were holding weapons in their hands, and wearing green hamlets on their heads

And we saw strange green vehicles that destroy everything by shooting bombs

Since that day, and there is no safety anymore, many of the parents that were preparing themselves to see their children in their graduation, had to hold them between their hands to bury them, with eyes full of tears falling down on their children’s faces

I lost my dad and my big brother in that day, and my other brother was injured, and the doctors had to cut his left leg, my mom entered in a shock situation, and our lovely home turned into Nothing, and all our days were gone in just 60 seconds

After that, me and mom and my 2 brothers had to leave to another place, we didn’t know where to go, so we suffered from moving from place to another, without my dad, without my elder brother, without food, without home, without everything, until we stayed in south of Lebanon, in a refugee camp, there we met many families from different places telling the same story

خليجية
Since that time and we still waiting to go back home, or even have a new home, and live with all our rights in Lebanon, but is seemed nothing has changed

We used to live that poor life… After 15 years i became 25 years old, at that time my mom got ill, and we couldn’t help her, and have the suitable treatment for her, so we had the second tragedy when mom died, after what happened my brother whose leg was cut was arrested by the israelians, and I and my other brother stayed alone waiting…

My brother started working selling fruits, and I was selling cloth in the streets, there i met my wife Siham, and we got married, and had 4 children, my brother didn’t marry because he didn’t want to take the responsibility of other people while having no money

Now, I have 12 grandsons and grand daughters, and I became now 72 years old, and still WAITING……………
